首先，確實是若干年前的，沒有問題。先拿太陽舉個例子。我們知道光速非常快，但是地球離太陽的距離非常遠，以至於光需要經過大約5分鐘才能從太陽到達地球，所以我們可以說當你抬頭看到太陽的時候，實際上是它5分鐘前的樣子，而它現在的樣子你還要等5分鐘才能看見。
